File Management Tool

I am interested in offering a few customers a file management tool, similar to that seen on many web hosting services, which will let them upload, download, mange files and directories from the comfort of their web browser.

Currently I have all my customers in a mysql database table with their homedirectories listed in one of the fields, so if there is some way I could use that it would make life easier, though not required.

Any thoughts? Haven't seen any programs like htis in PHP, and can't find any in Perl that I knew of.
