Php and Apache

Hi,

I am currenly trying to install php with apache on linux redhat 6.2.

Unfortunatly I can't get my browser to run
Php scripts, althought i have changed the httpd.conf.

Instead I keep getting my source code when activating php scripts, i tried to use file names with different extensions (php,php3) but it didn't work.

How can I check if my php works from command line ?

What could be wrong with my php/apache installation/configuration ?

Any help would be appericated,

Make sure you have a line similar to the following:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

This will force every .php file to have the mimetype application/x-httpd-php which will tell Apache to push it through the php interpreter before outputting. Hope that helps!

just a little addition to Chris King's reply

you never mentioned if php_mod.c was compiled into apache, check that this is compiled by doing a httpd -l

if it is compiled into apache go with Chris King's suggestion, otherwise recompile apache with mod_php.c

The INSTALL file tells u everthing thats needed.

I dont like reading documentation either but sometimes it helps
