Method "POST" not allowed

Hi all,

I am extremely new to php and at the moment im trying to create threaded discussions. When i try to insert a new entry into my database from my write-topic.html, i get a posting error, saying the following:

The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /write_topic.html.

Im using apache on a localhost for experimentation purposes. Have i screwed up the install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, it appears to be some sort of permission problem.

Make sure you have your web server setup to parse files with the extension html as PHP and make sure your web server has read and execute permissions to your write_topic.html file.

Hi, I have the same problem on my WINNT 4 server with IIS4 and php4.
I've sat all the permissions on the server, i think, but im a newbie to this, so im not sure.

If there is anyone who has a guide or tutorial how to set up an IIS4 please post it here.

Hi,

Thanx guys for your help, i fixed the problem by directly addressing the executable
/php/php.exe. Im not sure how sane this is, if its the right way to go about it, or if its particurlary secure.

Im running Win ME, and have php and apache installed, running as localhost just for testing purposes, but in regards to your problem Jesper, its probably more to do with the php.ini configuration, im not sure. The problem could also be with NT/IIS4. Im sure Mitch would be much more help then myself.
