mapping .html to php

Hi!

I just wanted to know does it slow the webserver if I use .html mapped to php? There will be quite a lot trafic on the server.

If you run php in CGI mode, it's deadly.
Generaly, it doesn't seem to make much sense anyway..

If you set .html files to be parsed by PHP, it means that all files will be parsed by it, not just the ones with PHP code blocks. So if your site is going to be completely dynamic anyway, it doesn't matter. Otherwise the overhead isn't worth it, even with mod_php.

But why bother? Show off your .php extensions! You should be proud of them! 🙂
