online html-editor -> html - code ->php

Hi everyone,

i try to produce a simple content management system. Knows someone a program that acts like a online html - editor (maybe java) to write text (and format the text, bold, usw. visual) and then is able to pass the produced html - code to my php - script.

Use Miscrosoft DHTML Edit component, but it works only under IE.

ya, the only 'good' ones are active-x... damn!

it needs to be live preview as you type.. like in a wordprocessor, but in a form field.

i hope someone creates one soon.. possibly a jar?, maybe something in dreamweaver could work.

We're looking for ways to support simple HTML editing online too. You can use IFRAME tags in IE5, and make them editable - at which point they start to look like HTML editors - but they don't work in IE5 on a Mac. We found a page where the author said Mac users were "@!#$ out of luck".

So we're looking for maybe a Java applet that might do similar things... but haven't found anything yet. Just bold, itallic formatting and the ability to do H tags would be great. I'll post again if we find anything - have you had any luck yet?

Just like u all, i tried php with javascript. it only works in ie5 and not with netscape or ie in mac machine. If anyone of u know a way to develope online html editor, do let me know. Java applet is too big.

Im currently using a online html editor in our Intranet. Its written in a Javascript and i very easy to implement and use.
I found it on macromedia dreamweavers exchange service... and its an extention to Dreamweaver. It`s free too =)
The backdraw: No function for upploading pictures.

The extension's called "PD On-line HTML/Text Editor" and its available at
"http://www.dwzone.net/showdetail.asp?NewsId=578" but you need to be logged in as a user. The registration is free!!!

oh I forgot that there is also an online editor written in javascript at the following address "http://shayne-michael.com/build2.htm" the page is very long but it does work and you can upload pictures with this script as well!!!
