Slow sockets (?)

Hello.

If i make a script what connects outside of my computer/network, then it takes about 5 secs, and i think the same problem is on perl/cgi. My connection is not any problem, because it is 10mbps. (And machines ram: 128mb)

Could there be problems like that my machine ask's ident, or something like that from the other machine (?)

Could be a DNS problem (is the server trying to reverse your IP without success?).. This could be one of a million network problems so how can you say your network is fine when you can't do what you're trying to do from two different languages? It's obviously not a PHP problem if you can't connect with a Perl CGI either..

Nah, i think the problem is not any DNS problem. I tested the same PHP script on different machines, and on my machine it taked about 5 secs to connect and on the otherone machine i taked 0 secs.
