PHP faxing solution?

Hi folks,

I am working on a project that will require sending faxes based on information that resides in a MySQL database. I am already using PHP to send information from the same database via e-mail.

What I am thinking is that there is probably some company that offers services that allow me to send e-mail that will get redirected to fax numbers. The faxing volume may be substantial. From what I have found so far, there are free faxing services provide a limited number of pages that can be sent or support a limited geographic area for faxing numbers.

Has anyone done something similar to this? Am I on the right track, does this seem to be a workable solution? Can anyone recommend a fax service that might be appropriate?

Seems to be a solution. You could however use something to fax yourself. I'm sure there are some command-line utilities out there that will fax text files. You could use PHP to write the files then call the fax utility (or do them in a batch)..

I'd check freshmeat.net first, then hit google to track something like that down..
