convert NITF to HTML

Hi,

does anybody know where to find a PHP-script, that converts the
News Industry Text Format (NITF) automatically to HTML?

it has documentation regarding nitf. since it is XML based you could use PHP's xml parseing function and write a parser to do it. would also be a great project to contribute if you were so inclined :-)

NITF is fairly well aligned with HTML -- conversion isn't nearly as difficult as getting a data feed that actually takes advantage of NITF. The Associated Press data that I've examined is nothing more than the AP Online wire with very minimal NITF markup. Reuters is much farther along, but has created another XML layer -- NewsML -- as a "wrapper" around NITF and other data types. This has some strengths but obviously complicates the process.

Are you a subscriber to the NITF and NewsML mailing lists?
