PHP reading a PDF

Lo all....
I was wondering if there was a way that would allow PHP to read a PDF file and actually be able to understand the contents, and possibly be able to search it (from an array or something). Is there anything out there like that?

I'm running PHP on NT server! I don't know if htdig is supported.

hi ,
the same problem is with me. i want to read a PDF document througt php script and insert the content of that data into th database.
if anyone of u guys have any solution pls forward it to me.
