Credit Card Processing!

Hi,
In my project I am coding the module where I have to take care of the on line Credit card transaction. This will be done thru the SSL.
Programming-wise can anybody explain me what I have to do/ Which r the fields that I have to submit to the Processing Agent?

Your card processor / bank should be able to tell you what information they expect and what format / protocols etc they want to use.
