What would be the easiest / most effective way for a user (not system admin) to test if they have .htaccess privledges? Like to test their AllowOverride limitiations to know if their desired directories are listed in this directive or if it's set to ALL.
Outside of assuming it is not allowable by not working for them, is there a sure fire way to test this that doesn't involve peeking at a conf or asking server admin?
Also, don't be shy to add tips to that tip :-)
