Include Problem

Here's my problem, a.php requires b.php which requires c.php.

a.php is anywhere after $DOCUMENT_ROOT
b.php is in /www/include/
c.php is in /etc/

the files are not able to find each other.

I have gone through the php online manual front to back, the include section has a ton of user notes. Quite frankly, I like how perl does it, so what I'm asking now is. What is the right way to accomplish this task, or better yet, what is the right way according to the creators of php?

btw, i have the include directory set in my httpd.conf file (within the virtual host directive) as follows:

php_value include_path "/blah/www/include:."

I dont know if there is a "right" way to do it, but I think you have two choices: either use explicit path refrences in all of your includes or set up some global variables in a config file of sorts that include your different directorys, then just include the one config file in everything (i think this is talked about in the anotated manual notes). Id recomend the second one.
