php = very powerful language, can use pretty much any database/os/server combination. if you are a totally newbie then setup might be a slight problem. but development time is th e least in php-mysql stuff.
javascript = thats a totally different aerena you are looking at. it is pretty much client side language, like to validate forms, etc
asp = make micro$oft more money. however, if you are heavily into windows stuff you might not ignore this language, asp is good (i beleive) in windows networks.
if you want to start building a new app and also have to learn php or asp, best bet would be on php... (and now much documentation is also available)
