I am using quanta on kde or emacs on BSD to code in php but sadly i have to use window a work 🙁 ... :o~

heheh ... anywya i was just wondering wich tool i can use to code php in windows. I know i can use plain text editor but i would like to know if there is any soft available that would highlight the code to make easier...

My favorite is EditPlus, which can be downloaded at http://www.editplus.com. Very fast, no bugs that I've run into during the past year of using it, and it has some interesting project management features that I've used extensively to automatically open all the files in a certain project I'm working on. It has highlighting for PHP, as well as a multitude of other languages.

agree with brian, editplus and ultraedit are probably the two best text editors for windows currently available for any language, including PHP. Both are available at the expected URLs.

Well since nobody has said it. Allaire's HomeSite. You can download a trial version. It highlights PHP, ColdFusion (of course), ASP, and many others (and of course HTML). Its definatly a good pick.

There are a few out there... PHPed and ZendIDE are two that I'm looking at right now. I currently use TextPad because it has an option to save files as PC,UNIX, or MAC file formats and has all of the code highlighting I need.

PHPed is supposed to offer debuging abilities, Homesite offers ftp loading, and ZendIDE is supposed to be the granddaddy of them all, but I can't get it to run.

PHPed seems to want to only utilize a Windows PHP version, but I haven't played with it enough to know for sure. *it's still an Alpha version, so it might be coming along later.
