browser langauge codes

I have been asked to produce a small app that stores user details in a database to see how successful a promotion is.

One of the user details i am storing is:
HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE

this produces something like en-us or en-gb

I then want to convert this code into a more friendly format i.e en-us = USA for reporting

the problem is i dont know where to get a complete listing of the browser language codes

Not very PHP is it?
Anyway, try looking for the RFC's about HTTP.
Those contain just about all the information there is about http.
