Listing Images in a Dir

I'm wounding is there a way to have PHP search a dir and then list is content(images) in a html page. Then lets say I add additionals photos this will update that list. lets say I had lots of photos and wanted to limit the veiw to 20 and use next and prev to scroll through the results. is this possible if so can someone point me in the right direction or show me an example of accomplishing this task

As for listing the items in a directory... did you even try to look at the manual?

As for limiting the results and putting them in pages,
there are 490 questions in this forum about how to do that for database results, and if you look at the basics behind the answers, you myst be able to use the same idea for your script.

My question is more on is it possible to search a dir and list the items on a web page I,m familar with the next & prev and can design one. but I want to know if I upload a photo in a dir and go to web page the kist will be update with the photo I just uploaded

Well, it sounds just a tad obvious to me that if you list a directory, the insert a file into that directory and list it again, the new file will show up.

experiment a little and let us know how it goes.

$dir = dir("pathtodir");
while ($file = $dir->read()) {
print $file."<br>";
}

That will list the files in the dir and if you add any it will work as for making it look nice you are on your own
