bulk_mailer with PHP

Hi!

This is a little OT, but not much: is it possible to send mail with bulk_mailer without having to play around with /etc/aliases?

An ideal solution would be that I could just fire bulk_mailer up with PHP and give it the adresses and the message and bulk_mailer would do the rest. Is this possible and if not, what would be the next best thing?

Assuming that you are ligitimate and you are not trying to find a new way to spam people:

a simple shell script could do it very nicely, but as we are in php: search the forum because this has been asked and answered.

have your adresses in a textfile, one adress per line.

This is exactly what I'm trying to avoid by using a third-party program like bulk_mailer, which should make it possible to "send" the mail only once with php and bulk_mailer would then take care of optimizing the sending process.

The problem is that I want to do this so that there is no need to edit system file like /etc/aliases so that this system could be used in virtually every server running PHP.

And what comes to spamming, I can assure you that is not the case with this project.

Thought about that already and didn't want to do it because I want each recipient to receive his/her 'own' mail.

I've considered quite many possibilities, and in order to compare them successfully I would really need to know if it's possible to use bulk_mailer more or less directly from php.

I know how to do the trick with sendmail+bulk_mailer (example given in the readme of bulk_mailer), but that would require editing /ect/aliases, which is also something I want to avoid.
