date(z) Issues

I'm using the PHP function date(z) for it's obvious function, however it's currently returning "1", when today is actually the 2nd day of the year.

Any suggestions?

Oddly enough, the PHP manual says:

z - day of the year; i.e. "0" to "365"

So Jan 1st would be day 0, and Jan 2nd would be day 1.

Who needs logic anyway :-)

Hey, hey, no jokes.

A friend of mine just helped me figure it out. The problem was that everything worked smooth last year, but I forgot that it was a leap year last year, so the day numbers (between reality and PHP) actually correlated after February. So since I didn't start learning PHP until September, I never realized this issue.

Oddly enough, the PHP manual doesn't discuss this issue.

I'm not joking, I'm attacking PHP for not counting days properly.

Ofcourse the manual doesn't discuss this issue, because
day 45 of the year is day 45 of the year, leap-year or not.

Day-of-the-year and date are to completely seperate things that you (naughty boy) should not mix up. 🙂

Nah, programmers should learn to use the real date instead of the day counter :-)
