statistics

I' d like to know if PHP is good to obtain statistics about a website.

And if there are any examples of code about this topic: using PHP to have your website statistics.

It depends 100% on where you want to get your statistics from.

If you want to analyze a webserver log, don't use php, use a compiled binary.

If you have the log in a database, PHP is good for getting the results from queries and creating graphs to show the stats.

If you want a hitcounter for your page... I'd allmost say "grow up" :-) but yes, PHP can be used for that too.

I can make an hit counter. I'd like to know if there are any special predefined functions in PHP with the scope of statistics...

I'm askin you because i have to hurry building this "Hit counter" with more than a simple counter....
