I'm not a big scripter...HTML and Javascript are my thing, not PHP!

But anyway..
I have the common free subdomain script installed in index.php on my site to redirect visitors to the subdirectories. What I need seems fairly similar:

I have bought three domain names.... all pointing to the same place. I want domainname1.com to point to the root direcotry (as it does). I want domainname2.com to point to domainname1.com/domainname2 and likewise domainname3.com to redirect visitors to domainname1.com/domainname3

It's similar to the way ZDNet does things... when you go to http://www.computershopper.com you go to http://www.zdnet.com/computershopper/

Why don't you just setup your webserver to have a virtual server called domainname2 and have it's document root in domainname1/domainname2?

It is not my web server... I am paying for hosting. They would charge me just as if I were setting up another account to do this.

Where are your domains registered? If you transfer domains to a registrar like gandi.net, they'll handle your DNS for you. So that you can have domain2.com pointed directly to domain1.com/domain2

This works well for me.

Other than that I'm not really sure. You might doing a search for DNS hosting. Or you might try reading the URL from the header, and then redirecting based on that.

I'd go for having it done on the dns level, though.

Uhm.. a DNS that holds a pathname?

I figured it out.....mostly.. I knew it was simple I just have to get it working totally right.... I did it like:

if ($HTTP_HOST == "domain2.com" || $HTTP_HOST == "www.domain2.com") {
header("Location: http://www.domain1.com/domain2$REQUEST_URI");
exit;
}
else {
}

The end part (REQUEST_URI) doesn't work.... if I enter www.domain2.com/directory

It wont take it to
www.domain1.com/domain2/directory like i want it to but i'm working on it. As I said I know nothing about PHP!!!! I had to read a ton of tutorials and try and fail a million times to write that simple script! Maybe i should learn. Thanks for your help!
