Am I a MySQL killer?

No and then when connecting to MySQL I get this message:

ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'

When I tell my service provider about it they say:

The problem is you keep killing mySQL and we have to reset it for you.

Can this be true?

I'm totally new to this, all I have tried is phpMyAdmin. Works fine, but I don't want to be a killer ;-)

MySQL is very hard to kill.
But, as you are a beginner.. who knows... 🙂
what kind of queries do you run and on what kind of tables (number of records)

Usually it's a dodgy mysql setup at the provider that causes the problems...

MySQL shouldn't just stop, it has fail safes that make it restart etc....

Is it that there servers are rebooting and they have no automated system to restart it?

I better ask them, it has been up for 2 days now, so maybe they have done something :-)
