Full-text indexing and searching

I've done some searches and can't seem to find info on full-text indexing and searching. Is this something that PHP supports??

It's something that your database supports, or you code in PHP.

For example, in the contrib/ dir of the PostgreSQL distro, there is support for full text indexing and searching...
