IP numbers and countries

Is there any database on Which IP number belongs to which country because I want to write a script to track from which all countries my site is being viewed

Hi there!

I hope you'll be satisfied with this answer. Do not know, though:
Check out http://www.extreme-dm.com/! Thisis a tracker service. This tracker works by putting a little image (can set it to height=1 width=1) on your site. Then it works a) as a normal counter (unique visitors / reloads) and b) it logs where every single visitor of your site is coming from. I myself think, that this is a perfect technique (Also used by NRG.BE - scroll down top frame).
