Oracle Connection

Hello Everybody,
I need some help, having a connection for an oracle 8 database but I want to use always the same connection, wich means every new user goes on the same existant connection of the oracle database.
How can I arrange that?

Hi Olivier,
sorry but what you mean is probably a persistant connection, but this is not what I mean. I have a website with a very high frequency an as far as I know will a persistant connection cause every user to have its own connection and this will bring my oracle database to collapse.
So do you have an answer how I can use an existant connection?
I use an apache server on windows 2000 and php 4.4!

A persistant connection is not done for every user, it's done only once for every child in the Apache pool; see www.php.net/manual/features.persistent-connections.php for all details. So it won't bring your server down (it's designed for this).

Note : persistant connections don't work in CGI mode. Do you use a module version with WIn2000/Apache ?
