Bounced Mail

I just sorted out the bounced Mail from a Newsletter and want to write a script that takes care of the bounced Mail from now on. (e.g. delete receipients if older then 2 Weeks...)

As this is a totally new area for me I wondered if there are not already tons of these kind of scripts out there.

Any idea where to search? And how is bounced mail usually dealt with?

On unix ,the way I deal with bounced email is that I use an alias in sendmail
to send all messages that come to a particular address to a php script.
This script then reads the email, finds the email adress, and marks that address as "bounced" in the database. If it bounced more than a few times, the adress is deleted.

You wouldn't happend to have that script for download, would you? Really looking for something that does this. Preferably in perl, but any language is just fine :-)

Not at the moment, but all you need to do is read the email line by line until you find the line where the original recipient adres is stored. Not that complex.
