Trouble with session setup

Hi sorry for this question but my knowledge is light.

When I try to use this code :

session_start();
?>

I ve got this warnings

Warning: open(/tmp\sess_93be254bda8760b11a532741491f2043, O_RDWR) failed: m (2) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

I'm sure it is easy to fix but I m a newbie

please help

1) check your permissions on the tmp directory

2) are you on windows/linux? if you're on windows check you php.ini config and check the location of the tmp folder

after you have checked what Brandon has said , try to check whether the path in php.ini for tmp directory is present on your system .

depends on your system. check your php.ini for where it expects to see the folder.

common locations: "/tmp" for unix, "c:\tmp" for windows

session.save_path = \temp ;

this is the intial setting in php.ini
depending upon the system windows or unix you have to create a directory in the specified path
for example in window system
create a directory in c:\ named tmp
then change the php.in as follows
session.save_path = c:\temp ;
