XML & PHP on redhat 7.0

Hi,
I'm in the process of learning XML (with PHP). My operating system is Redhat 7.0 and for some reason my code keeps crashing. But the same code works fine on Redhat 6.2. Has anyone ever experieced this problem before or do you know how I can resolve it?
