... only it uses PHP for the front end, and MySQL (or some other D😎 as the back end.
I've been digging for some kind of hint that someone might have put something like this together, but so far I've come up with dead ends. It appears that most people have elected to a) use the archiver provided (if one is provided) with their mail list software; b) use a public mail list archiver like Geocrawler or MARC; c) just use MHonArc and live with it.
Here's why I am interested in this, and why I think others would be, too: I'd like to be able to incorporate an existing, live list (which is limited to a specific workgroup), with a PHP-driven site that uses corresponding work-group members. I'd like to use a DB instead of acres of flat HTML, because I really hate dealing with flat HTML. :-)
I understand the basic concept of a mail archiver, and I know I can just pick my way through MHonArc and probably do just fine repurposing the code for PHP and MySQL, but before I do this, I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in this project, or (even better) if someone has already started such a project, would you like some help?
TIA
