Limitations-Issues Linux/PHP/TDS/MSSQL7

Hello All,

Currently for our major customer, we are trying to implement the following configuration:
Linux/PHP/FreeTDS<-->NT4/MSSQL 7

But we don't have any feedback about the limitations or issues with this configuration or benchmarking informations(#users max ? #laps time? robustness ..)

Please could you help us?

If the NT server that runs SQL 7 is stable, then sql 7 will be moderately stable but may mysteriously die under load (my experience, ymmv) SQL server 2000 under Win2K is much more robust, but if you can run the database on the Linux box you'll get better performance and reliability from both mySQL and Postgresql.

My experience with NT4/MSSQL 7 is purely anecdotal. Performance is fairly good, relibility, not so good.

ymmv = Your Mileage May Vary (i.e. you may find it works better or worse for your app than it did for other folks.)

I'm just looking for infos concerning the use of Linux/PHP/TDS/MSSQL7 and I don't find any infos, benchmarks concerning the use of FreeTDS. So do you have more infos about that ?
