Single quotes in mail() message

I'm relatively new to PHP, so forgive me if this is a dumb question... I'm using PHP to process and send data from a 'comments' form to an e-mail address. Everything's working fine, but if the user includes a single quote in their comment, it comes through in e-mail as \'
How can I prevent this?

Use stripslashes function :

$message = stripslashes($message);
