Treating & as & in URLs

I have a bit of a problem.

I have a Winamp plugin interface to a website that runs PHP. When the song changes, it goes to an autogenerated URL. But when the artist or song title contains a '&' as some do, it doesn't work properly. For example:

http://www.blah.net/mb.php?title=Let Her Cry&artist=Hootie & The Blowfish

Will tell me the title is "Let Her Cry" and the artist is "Hootie "

How can I fix this?

I don't think I can use that because I have no control when the URLs are formed, Winamp does it.

In that case I dont think there is anything you can do. Winamp should know better! e-mail them.

A percent sign the get method means it's gonna pass a character by it's ascii's hexa code
