How do I set a script on a TIMER >>

Hi ,

How do I set a script on a TIMER where it will self activate WITHOUT a user prompting? I ask this because I am building an object version of PHP NUKE and I wanted the back-end caching to run a set timer (actually I wanted the whole site to have that functionality) that would activate the cache to run at specific times.

It has perplexed me for months and has cost me much time and durress! Can you see the claw marks yet?! A few months prior I had seen somthing where by if I set some parameter in linux I would be able to achieve a crude likeness.

With an internal TIMER, this COULD bloom into thing of BEAUTY!! But Right now it's more the ELEPHANT MAN smitten with FOOT in MOUTH desease.

windows or unix?

On unix, use crontab. Start by reading the article here about how to do it.
