Cookies don´t work

Hello everyone,

When I will set a cookie, I write:

setcookie("name","$name","time()+3600");

Then cookie works fine, but if I close Internet Explorer and opening that again, the cookie have gone. How can I make a cookie there never "die"!

You are expiring in one hour. Also, you should use all 6 arguments (and hard-code the expire):

$lifeofcookie = mktime(12, 50, 30, 6, 20, 2010); // 12:50:30 20.06.2010
setcookie("name","$name","$lifeofcookie","","www.yourdomain.org", 1);

Try:

setcookie("name","$name",time()+3600);

Without quotes around time()... You submitted the textstring "time()+3600", not the value one hour later as intended (i guess 🙂.

When your cookie was send it had an expire set to zero="Keep cookie until close the browser".

But even when using +3600 your cookie is only valid for one hour, if you like to have the cookie "forever" try [phone], now it will stick with the user for one year. (If he/she don't return in a year, I don't think you need to know him 🙂

But I want the cookies forever, not just until the browser is being close.

I allway lost the cookies when I close the blowser, everyone please help.

Read my letter again 🙂

Then insert:
setcookie("name","$name",time()[phone]);

and you will have the cookie "forever". If one year too short, just change "315360000" to "315360000*X" (X=Number of years to keep the cookie).
