HI,

I have a problem, I had trie many things but nothing works.

I have a file (for example file.txt) and i want to put this file in a textarea but whithout the html tags. I have trie to use strip_tags(), but it is not working in a textarea.

How can i show my file without the html tags in a textarea.

strip_tags() should work, post some of your code and ill take a look

This is the code :

I trie this code without a textarea and it was working correctely but not when I put it like that :

<textarea name="texte" cols="45" rows="20">

strip_tags(readfile($filename));

There are at least two errors here.

One is is a common beginner's error. PHP functions that operate on strings generally return a modified string. They do NOT modify the original variable.

The other is that you didn't echo anything, so it should not be surprising that the textarea shows up blank.
