Although I still don't think PhP is hot or anything, I applaud your passion for it. It's funny seeing so many computer cavemen get so inflamed by one posting. I think it only proves how right I am. So call me childish, or whatever you like, but it's true I must have hit a nerve.
Let's face it, you're working in the shadows of bigger and better things. The equivalent of Canadians to Americans, or Linux users to Windows users. You're antiestablishment hackers who think that you can do everything better if only it's done your way. The kind of computer cavemen that program assembly for fun; the geeks that other geeks like to call geeks.
And although PhP has room to grow, you glorify it as if it were the coming messiah- glorify it as it were the one true programming language. Let me take a moment to break this fable. ColdFusion programmers don't sit around using pretty WYSIWYG editors either. They are just as web-savvy, if not more so, considering the language has been around longer. The fact is, there's more money to be made in ColdFusion than there is in PhP. Let's face it, PhP is the poor man's ColdFusion.
I'll say this again. Without any language consistency, tech support, clustering support, or good database connectivity, it will never be as good as ColdFusion or ASP.
