knows anybody how to show titles (not names)of pages located in one subdirectory ?

I think he wants to get the TITLE tags form each document in a dir.

If this is so, you need to read each file and parse out whatever is in the TITLE tags. I think one of the ereg() functions should help. Sorry, I suck at regexes. You also need to look into fopen(), opendir(), and fread(). THe examples and user notes in the manual should have neough info to get your started.

No, he doesn't need to read each one.

Instead, do a grep using a regex and you can get the title for each fairly easily.

1. grep = command line program in unix
2. search google for regex help

Of course, this assumes you have grep installed in your base system. I probably should have mentioned it.
