php headers on apache win32

i keep getting the header:

content-type:text/html

at the beginning of each php file i run on my win-ME. apache is version 1.3.4, with php 4.

i have disallowed headers display from all php config and apache config files, but this line still bothers me and doesnt allow proper formatting of a php page.

can anyone help?
