setup questions

Hi, i have some questions
1) i want to write php and mysql code, but i dont know the unix server support it or not, i know the unix server run apache only, because the server is in other company, i can only upload the file to the server only.
So i want to know how the server need something to run php and mysql
2) Do the unix server need to setup something run php
3) do the server need to setup to read my code with mysql.
4) how can i test these by the browswer?

open a new file, write in it:

phpinfo();
?>

save that as info.php, upload to the server and check the result, if any.
