error :cant connect to a mysql

hi ,

i got an error while i am connecting php and mysql that cant connect mysql .
socket error(111) cannot create socket .

how couldi eliminate this error ?

i dont have mysql.sock file in any location either

/var/lib/mysql or /tmp

i am trying also by using c language to connect mysql but the same error is there in it also .

pls send me how to clear eliminate an error .

It seems there's a conflict in the mysql port. Are you in a linux box ?. Hope so.

Okay then, just following installation instructions for mysql and re-install it and try again. I haven't tried in Linux at all, since Linux comes with mysql shipped in it, now-a-days. I am not sure of it.
