adding an extention to php4

I was thinking in adding an extention to PHP 4.
I have some small and simple c functions I would like to use in PHP, and also do some new stuff.
I use windows, how can I do something like that?

adding extensions to php really requires you to study the zend api and macros. really there are macros for everything . this means that any existing C code you have is going to have be modified very heavily. i suggest tobais raschiller's (sp?) book and online tutorial (the book is put out by new riders and the tutorial is, i believe, available at phpwizards.

i don't know anything about windows....
