"&" not passing all of a sudden...

I'm having trouble passing the ampersand ("&") when it's part of a string.

If a company has that symbol in it's name, the whole name doesn't pass to the next page.

For example, if the company's name is "Joe Cool & Sons", only the "Joe Cool" passes.

I'm using urlencode and urldecode, but that doesn't seem to help with the "&".

Any suggestions?

If you're using urlencode(), the ampersand should be translated to '%26'.

I get:

Joe+Cool+%26+Sons

for this script:

<?php

print urlencode( "Joe Cool & Sons" ) . "\n";

?>

Is that what you get also?

could be worth trying rawurlencode(url)
and rawurldecode(url).
These vary only slightly with their raw-less counterparts.
