Specifying images?

How could use PHP to solve this prob.

If you have a text field which allows a user to post an image using the URL they specify, but if they don't specify an URL I get a missing picture box.

How can I get it to say if the URL field is blank to place a transparent gif?

$imgname = "blank.gif";
}
else {
$imgname = $textimg;
}
echo "<img src = '$imgname'>";
?>

relies on having a blank.gif. To generate this image with php would be quite a lot more code. Any problems send us a mail
