So you'll have to modify the script. One obvious possibility is to ignore anything that matches the regex http?://, though that ignores other schemes that are valid urls (ftp, mailto, etc.) Two big questions are:
(1) Some URLs can be very long if they include arguments passed in the URL, leading to
(2) What was the point of the 20-char word wrap in the first place? If it was for purely cosmetic reasons, then it won't break anything to have an occasional long url passing through, but if not... you're in trouble with conflicting requirements.
