PHP Courses

Hi, I'm not sure if this is considered off topic, but I wasn't sure where else to post this.

I am currently a junior in high school, looking at colleges to attend after next year. However, none of the colleges I've seen have any courses dealing with internet related programming languages (with the exception of the small Perl/C++ classes). I have pretty much self-taught myself PHP, but I'm interested in taking classes on that, ASP, etc. I was wondering if any of you happened to know any colleges that may offer classes of this nature.

Patrick is right. I graduated a two years ago with a double major in German and Economics, and now I am a PHP/MySQL/HTML programmer. The marketplace has changed so much since our parents were in it. Today, employers look for smart people who can learn fast. A signal to them that you are one of those people is a well-rounded education, lots of general classes, lots of activities, and a respectable GPA. I wouldn't steer you away from pursuing a specific courseload, but I would certainly steer you toward following what you love. Most of all, remember you don't have to know all the answers now, and you don't have to know now what you are going to be doing when you're 50.

I am finishing my two bachelor degree education at the U of M (11 classes left). My advice and observation is this. If are really grounded in PHP you can teach all the web courses at any college. I don't think that you'll learn anything new untill you get to the master's and Ph.D. level.

All of the programming classes here are a joke. Teachers teach us how to write programs similar to "hellow world" type. Basically, learn everything yourself - you'll be much better off. All of the computer related knowledge like web programming, and hardware repair and assembly I learned on my own, and I advise for you to do the same.
