ScriptAliasing for PHP script

With the module verson of PHP is it possible to use ScriptAlias to place the PHP scripts outside the htdocs subtree, to protect them from viewing?

Or do they have to be skeleton files under the htdocs subtree and require includes to link the actual files?

Spooky, but this works for me (my htdocs is "c:\apache\htdocs" and this maps a folder in my e: drive):

Alias /sites/ "path/to/another/folder/"
<Directory "path/to/another/folder">
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
</Directory>

I can execute the PHP files in my "e:/shanx" as

http://localhost/sites/xxx.php

Note the placement of front slash (/) in the directory paths..it doesnt work with any change.

Oh, and I am on a windows 2000 server machine..(but the apache config should be the same?)

Are you running PHP as an Apache Module or through the interpreter?
