session id in URL

When I start session for the first time during a visit to my pages a variable PHPSESSIONID appear in the URL of the hyperllinks in my page. There hyperlinks have a www.something.com/dir1?something structure. At the end is appending PHPSESSIONID=....

Has anyone seen this and know about it?

Look for "--enable_trans_id"

But basically you should read the entire page, lots of need-to-know info.
