Apache gives permission denied

hi,

my apache web server is giving permission denied statements for all requests, even from 127.0.0.1. I just cannot view ANY page at all.

i checked the httpd.conf file , but everything is Ok, i even replaced it with the original backup, provided by default, but still nothing.

pls help, my entire project is stuck becos of this

check the permissions on the apache web root folder. make sure all users have read & execute permissions on the folders and at least read permissions on the files inside.

for example with redhat 6.2:
chmod o+w /home/httpd/html
chmod 744 /home/httpd/html/*
