Execute a bat file in IE

I working on a menu for my branches that uses Internet Explorer. I havn't been able to figure out how to simply execute the bat, com, or exe's without the "Open from Location, or Save to Disk" option to come up. Is there any way to simply click the link and run the programs? I'm using Macromedia Dreamweaver to build the webpage if that helps. Thanks

Luckily no.

An executable cannot be started automatically, and that is a very good thing.

Imagine clicking a link and getting a virus sent to you that is automatically executed by your browser. Virusses are only a few kbyte, so it would execute before you'd even know you downloaded anything. Icky...

I think what Luckily wants to know (Same with me), How would one write it to a user could execute a ".bat" file from a menu.
I want to put all my .bat files into a menu (HTML href tag) and be able to execute them just like I would from an Wondows Explore, simply click on them.
