How do I echo a visitors IP address?

How can I echo the IP address of a visitor on the webpage they are visiting?

Hi every body:
I get the SERVER IP with the predefine variable $REMOTE_ADDR, no the CLIENT IP.
I have PHP4 in Windows NT 4.

Obviously you need an IP of the user that is connected on your site e/o page. Right?!!

& that's the right way to do it.
REMOTE_ADDR

If you're using that on your local "REMOTE" computer... it's not working that way. Your server has to be online to see that working.

You'll get nothing but a 127.0.0.1

I'm having the same problem the other guy is having ... I have my webserver running behind a router with http/ftp ports open. But when i try <?php echo gethostbyaddr ($REMOTE_ADDR);?>

<?php echo $REMOTE_ADDR; ?>

I get my server's IP - even when connecting to it from a node outside of the LAN. Any ideas?
