PHP and GIF-Images

Hi,

i'm using PHP4 on Win32 and have a problem with the GDLib. I loaded the appropiate extension to get gif support. My problem is that PHP sometimes shows me a black or cluttered up image when i use ImageCreateFromGif(). Simply reloading the page helps me sometimes out, but that's not an acceptable solution for the end user. Even because i want to cache the created images to take load away from the webserver and you can guess that's fatal if i cache a "bad" image. So does anyone know how i can fix that or at least how i could check if ImageCreateFromGif produced a "good" image, so that i don't cache unuseable images any more?

the other ImageCreateFromXXX functions are working fine for me :-)

Um, sometimes does it when you use imagecreatefromgif or does it do it ALL the time?

I don't use windoze, but I can tell you that that later versions of gd don't have gif support because of licencing issues. Use png instead, it's better anyway.

the error only appears sometimes. I don't know how to solve the problem. Unfortunately i can't switch to PNG :-(
